Steamer Edith H Sinks
The Steamer Edith H., owned by the Grantsville Mill Co., sunk in the
local harbor Saturday morning. Captain James Huffman had had the
boat fired up Friday evening and was breaking ice in the pool in front
of the mill, and it is supposed that some of the calking was dislodged
and a leak sprung in the hull of the vessel. A battery of pumps were
set to work as soon as the boat went down and it was raised with not a
great deal of damage done. |
