Bob Parks Arrested for Horse Stealing
A warrant was sworn out Thursday by Al. Hardman, Sr. for the arrest
of Bob Park, charging him with stealing a horse from the Haverty boys,
of Bells run, upon which Mr. Hardman had a deed of trust.
The warrant was placed in Constable Howard Waldo's hands and he got
on Park's trail in Wirt county. Roscoe Hardman also took the trail,
and found the horse at Ravenswood, where Mr. Park had traded him off.
Waldo and Hardman both being at Palestine Friday evening met Park and placed
him under arrest, Waldo bringing him on to Grantsville and Hardman going
after the horse. The preliminary trial has not yet been held, but
it is generally believed that Park will claim he purchased the horse from
Haverty's. |
