of the Calhoun Chronicle dated 3/28/1911.
The Steamer Acme came near burning up one night recently. The
fire started from the stove pipe, and it was discovered in time to save
the boat from total destruction by Earl Gates, who was sleeping on the
boat. The pilot house was totally burned, and the damage was considerable. |
