Mass Conventions Called
Mass conventions of the people of all the magisterial districts of the
county regardless of politics have been called to meet Saturday of this
week, June 19th, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for member of
the Board of Director of the Calhoun County High School. The call
was issued Thursday by County Superintendent Chenoweth and the Presidents
of the various Boards of Education, and provides for conventions being
held at the following places: Sheridan district, Brooksville; Center
district, Grantsville; Sherman district, Henrietta; Lee district, Daniels
Run; Washington district, Minnora.
It may appear strange that so short a time is given for the people to
think over whom they want on the Board, but in order to lay the levy this
year it is necessary that the Board be elected and the votes canvassed
before the first Monday in July. |
