This town is evidently developing some clever local talent. During
the hour of services at the Baptist Church Sunday morning the drug store
was broken into and some wine and spirituous liquor appropriated.
There seems to have been two or more performing the work, and the one under
the stairway leading into the Masonic Hall was not quite as well concealed
as he perhaps imagined. He was doubtless there for the purpose of
giving the alarm to his pal on the inside of the building in case the druggist
should happen to come to the store. An entrance was effected through
the cellar and by means of a lever the trap door between the store and
the cellar was broken.
