Griffith to be Tried in July
On Monday a special Grand Jury found an indictment for murder against
W. Holly Griffith, the slayer of Policeman Tompson at Gassaway. It
was the expectation that his case would be tried this week, but upon being
called before Judge Fisher and questioned as to whether he was ready with
counsel to stand trial, Griffith stated that he expected to be able to
employ counsel of his own choosing, and his trial was deferred until the
first day of the July term of court, the 12th. As Griffith was conveyed
back to his cell he collapsed and cried bitterly. - Braxton Central. |
