A quiet prayer was said in remembrance of hundreds
of Calhoun soldiers who have served in many wars
The Sturm Cemetery rests on a high knoll near the top of Millstone Hill.
This memorial weekend, a flag pole with American flag was erected by Grantsville's VFW Post 5959.
A time was taken to honor Calhoun soldiers who have served in many wars.
Perhaps the most famous person buried in the cemetery is Confederate soldier Major George Downs (1820-1889) with other notable members of local families, including Sturm, Offutt, and Everson.
