Supposed Infanticide
The report reached us from Minnora that a young lady by the name of
Siers, living in that vicinity, recently gave birth to a child which she
claimed was stillborn, and had it buried without any of the neighbors knowing
of it. When the fact leaked out the people claimed it was infanticide,
and had her arrested. Preparation were made to exhume the body of
the infant, and prosecuting attorney Hays was sent for to assist in the
post mortem examination. At the time of going to press, we have not
heard what the result of the was, but we presume the young lady was acquitted. |
