The Republican administration expects the teachers of this state to
raise a family of the Roosevelt style, buy eight or ten dollars worth of
books each year, give the state two dollars for each examination, spend
from three to ten attending, one dollar for Institute work, lose their
time all for the sum of thirty or forty dollars for teaching for six months.
If that is not the limit, we would like for someone to show why.
It is time the teachers of West Virginia set up and take notice of the
Payne-Aldrich tariff bill, the Dawson tax law and the Virginia debt question.
They are Ephriam joined to their idols.
