Leafbank Improvement to be Done in (Illegible)
J.R. Janeiro, local stone contractor, informed the Chronicle this week
that he had been awarded sub-contracts for building a new bridge at Leafbank,
along with a contract for a huge stone culvert at Nicut on the Grantsville-Brooksville
road. Mr. Janeiro will start quarrying stone for the projects within
the next week or ten days.
A contract for the Nicut improvement was awarded early in March to the
Parkersburg Construction Co. Later on it was amended to include the
Leafbank work which is extremely essential.
The Nicut culvert will be 4x4 feet and about 300 long to take care of
the high fill over it. The Leafbank crossing will have a much larger
opening to take care of backwater from the Little Kanawha but the fill
will not be so high. |
