Fall from Auto Fatal - Little Patty Gainer

Grantsville relatives and friends of the family were shocked by the news of the death of Patricia Ann Gainer, 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Artie (Red) Gainer, former residents of Grantsville, now of Glenville.

The little girl fell from a automobile when a rear door became unlatched and flew open while she was being taken to school Monday morning.  She was immediately taken to a Parkersburg hospital where she died Tuesday.

She is survived by her parents and one brother, Larry.  Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gainer of Joker, are grandparents of the little girl, and Mrs. Verle Stewart, of South Grantsville, is an aunt.  The father was formerly head of the WPA sanitation work in this county, but has been county supervisor of the NYA program in Gilmer county for the past two years.

Funeral services were held from the local Methodist church Thursday afternoon in charge of Rev. S. Paris Bell, of Beckley, former pastor of the local Methodist church, assisted by Rev. C.C. Perkins, of the same church.  Interment was in Bethlehem cemetery.
