Calhoun and Wirt Plagued by Robberies in 1911

Transcribed by Norma Knotts Shaffer from microfilm of the Calhoun Chronicle dated 9/26/1911.

A series of robberies have occurred in the lower end of this and the upper end of Wirt counties in the past week or so, and two or three members of what is supposed to be a large gang of outlaws have been arrested by the Wirt county authorities.  A man by the name of Richards, of this county and a Geers and Boggs of Wirt county are in limbo, and other arrests are likely to follow.  Stores have been robbed, as well as farmers, of almost every conceivable thing that had any value.  Two or more hiding places of the thieves have been found, where they stored the goods, and each place had the appearance of a country store.
