Transcribed by Norma Knotts Shaffer from microfilm of
the Calhoun Chronicle dated 8/27/1901.
Dow Collins and wife and son were visiting friends in Ritchie county
last week, returning this. Dow put on his boy's red hat and went
out in the field where Manley Collins' bull was, and the bull got as mad
as he did when Henry Morrison went up the road with them big dahlias, and
went for him, and in the fight the bull made it to much for him and run
him to the house. With the aid of his wife and daughter and four
sons and a dog he got away by jumping a five foot barbed wire fence. |
