Smithville Pump Station Blown Up
A gas explosion destroyed the pump station of the Mountain State Gas
Company at Smithville Thursday morning at 3:00 o'clock. Two townsmen,
Mac Flesher and Will Cornell, were dangerously burned. Another tourman
by the name of Bush was standing in the door of the engine house at the
time of the explosion and was blown into the Hughes river, a distance of
fifty yards or more. Engines and pumps were ruined and it will be
some time before the plant is running again. |
