A serious altercation took place Saturday morning near Mussel shoals
between J.L.D. Brake and Andy Harris, in which the former was badly wounded
by a rock thrown by the latter. Harris, who is only a boy of 16 years
was passing Brake's house and hissed his dog on Brake's dog. Whereupon
Brake went into the house and procured a shot gun and returning to the
road threatened to shoot Harris' dog. A quarrel followed and Harris
seizing a rock threw it at Brake, striking him behind the ear, and for
several hours it was thought that the wound would prove fatal. But
at last reports, Mr. Brake was better and it is tho't now that he will
recover. Harris was arrested Saturday evening and lodged jail, and
will be given a preliminary hearing today. |
