Chloe Child Drowns in Five Gallon Jar
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Carl Leroy Copen, 10-months-old
tot who was drowned in a five gallon jar of water Sunday.
The child, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Copen of Chloe, was reported to
have drowned when he fell into the jar while playing in the yard at the
J.G. King residence at Chloe. He was pronounced dead upon arrival
at a Spencer Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Carl and Dorothy King Copen; a sister,
Carol Rose Copen, at home; and the grandparents, J.L. and Julia King, Walton,
and Mr. and Mrs. Tilts Copen of O'Brien. |
