WV COVID-19 CASES DOUBLING - 255 New Cases Thursday

With Covid-19 falling prey to misinformation and politicization, WV is hitting a stone wall to get people vaccinated while mask mandates being removed, the virus is doubling in numbers in WV the past few days.

Gov. Jim Justice's "Do It For Babydog" taxpayer funded million dollar give-a-ways seems to have provided only a small boost.

West Virginia health officials reported five new COVID-19 deaths in the latest update Thursday.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 255 new coronavirus cases Thursday. Active cases were at 1,910.

Hospitalizations increased from 127 Wednesday to 133 Thursday. There were 54 COVID patients in intensive care and 20 on ventilators.

The state’s cumulative positive test rate remained at 4.93% Thursday. The daily positive test rate decreased from 4.93% to 4.35% over the past 24 hours.

COVID-19 recoveries were at 161,894 in the latest update.

As of Thursday morning, there were 100 confirmed cases of the Delta variant in the state.
