(11/27/2020)
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 1,130 new COVID-19 cases and 17 additional deaths on Thanksgiving Day, several people in their 50s.

New cases have been reported in Calhoun and regional counties.

The DHHR announced 967 new COVID-19 cases, 13 additional deaths on Wednesday.

Hospitalizations continue to rise, with 534 people currently fighting the virus in hospitals across the state. 147 of those are in the ICU and 60 are on ventilators.

The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on November 26, 2020, there have been a total of 1,079,066 (+15,469) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 44,180 (+1,130) total cases and 712 (+17) of those cases resulting in deaths.

Resident COVID positive number now at 80 at Marshall County nursing home.

As coronavirus cases surge again nationwide the conservative Supreme Court late Wednesday barred New York from enforcing certain limits on attendance at churches and synagogues in areas designated as hard hit by the virus.

WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has indicated that Gov. Justice's mandate on mask wearing will not be enforced, although the state enforces other safety concerns like the seatbelt laws.

There are still active WV protests against mask wearing.
