WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: CALHOUN HIGH GRADUATION AND PARADE FRIDAY

Calhoun High School Graduation Ceremony: Class of 2020-85 Grads

After careful consideration of restrictions due to COVID-19 and restrictions implemented by the West Virginia Department of Education, Calhoun-Middle High School Administration and Graduation Committee presents the following guidelines for the Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony:

Date/Time: Friday, June 26th, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.

Location: Calhoun-Middle High School Front Parking Lot

Guidelines:

Each graduate is limited to one standard-sized vehicle and one nonstandard-sized vehicle for guests. The graduate will be parked in the Front Parking Lot and the guests will be in the Back Parking Lot.

Graduates/Guests are NOT permitted to ride in the bed of a truck due to safety concerns.

Parking Passes will be given to graduates during graduation practice.

Each parking pass has a corresponding number and color. The number represents the order the students will graduate as well as their parking spot.

Front Parking Passes (Graduate) will be YELLOW.

Back Parking Passes (Guests) will be RED.

The stage will be set up in the front of the school. Graduates are to be in the vehicle dressed for the ceremony.

Graduates will remain in the vehicle with their family until directed to exit the vehicle. ONLY parents may get out of the vehicle with the graduate to take pictures and maintain social distancing requirements. Graduates will walk across the stage, be announced, pick up their diploma, return to their vehicle, and proceed to the Front Parking Lot where they will park and remain inside the vehicle until the graduation ceremony has ended.

Guests will follow behind the graduate and then exit the ceremony after the graduate receives their diploma.

The graduation ceremony will be broadcasted over the radio station 91.5 FM.

Lifetouch will be taking photographs of each student. The Class of 2020 funds will cover the cost of 2 photographs per graduate. Photos will be mailed to the graduates’ home and they will have the opportunity to order more photographs at their own expense.

No smoking.

Restrooms will NOT be available.

All staff assisting with graduation will observe social distancing and other recommended safety protocols.

Graduation Practice

June 25, 2020 beginning at 5:00 p.m. @ Calhoun-Middle High School.

Students will arrive at staggered times based on their AA/last name:

Mrs. Hall’s AA/ A-Do 5:00-5:30 p.m.

Mr. Arthur’s AA/ Dp-Ke 5:40-6:10 p.m.

Mrs. Ramezan’s AA/ Kf-Ri 6:20-6:50 p.m.

Dr. Gainer’s AA/ Rj-Z 7:00-7:30 p.m.

Students will have the opportunity to clean out their lockers and get any graduation cords/attire.

Graduation Parade:

The parade will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. after the conclusion of the ceremony.

The parade will go North on Rt. 16 to Grantsville, loop around the courthouse, and head back South on Rt. 16 to the Arnoldsburg Community Building.

Any graduate/family that does not want to go any route or both routes can exit the parade lineup.
