PM SUNDAY: Eight New Cases Covid-19

Health officials confirmed eight more coronavirus cases in West Virginia Sunday.

The new cases bump the state’s total to 2,144, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. There are at least 609 active cases in the state.

Five employees of the Williamson Health and Wellness Center have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The facility announced Saturday one of the positive tests was that of a nurse practitioner, Sidney Cline.

“Four other support staff, who were exposed to Mr. Cline, also have tested positive. They are also quarantined and recovering at their homes,” the organization said in a press release. “Everyone having contact with Mr. Cline or any of our staff have been notified by our office or the health department.”

No new virus-related deaths were reported again during the weekend, keeping the state death toll at 84.

At least 1,451 people have recovered from the virus in the Mountain State.
