MID-OHIO VALLEY HEALTH DEPARTMENT - Additional COVID-19 Case in Wood County

(04/06/2020)
Parkersburg, WV April 5, 2020 – The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department confirms an additional case of COVID-19 in Wood County. This brings the total to thirteen in the county.

No additional cases were reported for Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane or Wirt. It is important to remain vigilant to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Along with the Governor's Stay at Home order, the CDC continues to advise avoiding close contact with people to help slow the spread of coronavirus, especially if you are 65 and older or have an underlying medical condition like lung disease, heart disease or diabetes. Take steps to protect yourself and slow the spread of coronavirus.

Recent studies show that symptoms may not show up until 48 hours after being infected and up to 25 percent of those infected may not exhibit symptoms. Both groups may be "silent spreaders" of the virus.
