CALHOUN JOINS TAX TRANSPARENCY PROJECT - County Budget Numbers Available Online

(08/18/2019)
The Calhoun County Commission has partnered with the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office to launch a county-wide transparency portal that will permit the public to view and interact with information on how Calhoun County spends taxpayer funds.

Commission president Kevin Helmick said, "County Clerk Simers has worked hard to provide this public information, the county among the first in West Virginia."

The County Commission is committed to making as much information as possible accessible to the public. County Clerk, Jean Simers, said “We are happy to partner with the State Auditor’s Office to be more transparent.”

“One of my main goals as State Auditor is to leverage technology to give West Virginia citizens the tools they need to know how their taxpayer dollars are spent,” State Auditor John B. McCuskey said.

“This is just another way for the public to be engaged and informed. We are happy to partner with Calhoun County and welcome any feedback.”
