ARMED ROBBERY - A Morgantown man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a home and held the residents at gunpoint.

John Martin, 30, is accused of breaking into a house on Brookhaven Road, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department.

When the male and female residents arrived home, Martin came out of the kitchen area and pointed a revolver at them, deputies said. The couple, then, left the residence and went into the front yard, where Martin continued to hold them at gunpoint and began demanding $200.

Finally, the male victim pulled a gun from his hip and pointed it at Martin, deputies said. Martin, then, put his revolver in his pocket and walked up the street.

The couple found that their ammo container, which held approximately 130 rounds, was missing when they went back inside.

Martin is charged with armed robbery and daytime burglary.

FAYETTE STABBING - A man is facing charges after he threatened his mother and stabbed his brother.

Jesse Nelson, 22, is charged with malicious wounding, domestic battery, domestic assault and possession.

Deputies were called Sunday to a home in the 700 block of Green Loop Road near Oak Hill for a man who was having a medical emergency.

The dispatcher could hear an altercation through an open 911 line.

According to deputies, Nelson went into his brother's room and fell to floor, appearing to have a seizure.

An altercation then began between the two. That's when deputies say Nelson grabbed a knife and threatened his mother and stabbed his brother in the arm.

Deputies found Nelson walking outside. He wouldn't respond to verbal commands, but was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies found marijuana, several unmarked pill bottles and a digital scale in plain view in Nelson's room while searching for his ID.

Nelson was taken to Southern Regional Jail.

MAN FIRE SHOTS AT FOOTBALL GAME - A Huntington man accused of firing multiple shots near a youth football game and shooting a man in the foot in September was arrested Saturday.

Kameron Ziegler, 18, is facing multiple charges after he was arrested following a short foot pursuit in Huntington, according to a criminal complaint.

Ziegler is accused of firing several shots near a youth football game on Sept. 30. One of those rounds struck a man in the foot. During the investigation, witnesses identified Ziegler as the shooter, according to the complaint.

On Saturday, Huntington police spotted Ziegler in the passenger seat of a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The complaint said when the vehicle came to a stop, Ziegler jumped out and tried to run away from police. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit that ended at about 7:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of Charleston Avenue.

The complaint said Ziegler was carrying a loaded firearm that police later learned was stolen. He also had cash and Alprazolam.

Ziegler is charged with malicious wounding, receiving or transferring stolen property, obstruction, fleeing on foot and possession with the intent to deliver.

He is being held in the Western Regional Jail on $190,000 bond.
