During the past couple of years, marketing companies have hijacked local phone numbers to call subscribers to sell stuff.
"Get the phone. That's Harry," but Harry has been high-jacked.
The hijacked numbers are local subscribers, acquaintances or family members, just so you'll answer after seeing the number of a caller ID.
This week I got a call announcing I'd won a free vacation trip to the Caribbean, and another saying I can get a new credit card by just saying "yes."
Government officials, a few years ago allowed phone customers to ban marketing calls.
That's all down the tubes.
Please, some WV state official, can't you just make it illegal in West Virginia.
We're just tired of running to the phone, and we're getting too old to have such a nuisance.
