GENTLEMAN MERCHANT DIED 2019

Chloe merchant John Rose takes a break swingin' with his
dog on the porch of the country store emporium along Rt. 16

The owner and operator of one of Calhoun's last "country" stores, John Herman Rose, 76, has passed.

He was owner and operator of Chloe Auto and Hardware since 2001. John enjoyed helping people and was the ideal storekeeper.

A lot of his past experiences and jobs were self-taught. He never hesitated to undertake a project just because he didn't know how to do it. He had a lot of compiled experiences in business ventures, construction, farming, and mechanics.

His presence will be sorely missed by the greater Chloe community.

He will be buried on his farm with A memorial celebration in his honor will be announced and held at a later date.
