CLAY GETS INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT FUNDS - Five Other Counties Eligible For Special Flood Money

(11/26/2003)
Six West Virginia counties hit by recent flooding have been declared eligible for federal aid to repair roads, bridges and other public properties.

The money can be used to repair or replace infrastructure in Clay, Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan and Wayne counties.

Governor Wise said that state and local governments can apply for federal public assistance grants. The grants also can be used to pay overtime costs for emergency workers.

Some nonprofit groups also are eligible for the funding.
