LAST MAN CLUB HAS MEMBERS - Ritchie Asks For More Vets To Register

(11/25/2003)
The Calhoun County Committee on Aging has organized a "Last Man Club" to honor and track WWII veterans.

"It is very important that all WWII veterans that entered service from Calhoun County register for the Club," says Mike Ritchie Veterans do not have to be current residents of the county.

The last survivor will be awarded a beautiful pottery bucket that will contain all of the information submitted by veterans that joined the club.

"The Bucket" will be significant in remembering and honoring those veterans, and will have great sentimental value to the recipient.

Please make sure your loved one or family member is registered for this special recognition by calling the Calhoun County Committee on Aging at 304-354-7017 for registration information.

Following are veterans who have registered for "The Bucket":

Albert E. Ball, David B. (Jack) Bush, Clenton L. Cottrell, John W. Elliott, Denver Garretson, Roy Helmick, Leonard Marshall, Oral Nichols, Dale Ritchie, James O. Stalnaker, Bernard "Tom" Sturm, Woodrow Whytsell, Ivy Von Yoak.

"There is no cost for registration, and it only takes a minute. Please help us make sure that no one is left out," said Ritchie.
