Clairanna Elizabeth McClung, 93 - Spencer

Clairanna Elizabeth McClung, 93, of Spencer died Nov. 19, 2003, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Brooks McClung, in 1985. She was formerly the executive secretary of the Roane County chapter of the American Red Cross and was formerly employed by Ryan & Scott, Attorneys, and Richard Brumbaugh, Attorney. She was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Spencer, the Spencer Women's Club and several other fraternal organizations. She is survived by her son and his wife, Samuel Brenton and Bonnie McClung of Charleston; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at Taylor- Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. David Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Visiting hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
