SPENCER CIVIC LEADER PASSES - Mary Depue, 54, After Sudden Illness

A Spencer community and civic leader, Mary (Duffy) Depue, has died at the age of 54 after a sudden illness.

She was employed by Connect Child Care; was president of the Family Resource Network; was vice-chairman of PATCH; and was a member of Tri-County Partnership and Roane Rural Housing. She was a CRI volunteer; a service unit director of the GSUSA, where she was also a troop leader for nine years; secretary and treasurer of the RCGC; and was affiliated with Educare and the Roane County Providers Association. She was also a May 1995 graduate of Glenville State College.

She was born June 15, 1949, in Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of the late Juanita Medley Koren of Lake Alfred, Fla., and the late Mike Koren.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Daniel D. DePue; one daughter, Jondalyn DePue of Huntington, W.Va.; one son, Michael DePue of Spencer; one sister, Peggy Koren of Lake Alfred, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Holly DePue of Spencer.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial in the Spencer Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Roane County Community Resources, 482 Ripley Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
