UNITED HOSPITAL WILL BUILD $265 MIL HOSPITAL NEAR CLARKSBURG

(10/25/2003)
It's official. United Hospital Center in Clarksburg has been given the go ahead to build a brand new $265 million replacement hospital along I-79.

The hospital will be built on 125-acres near the FBI Center off Interstate 79 in Harrison County.

The current UHC is located in Clarksburg City limits.

Health Care Authority members will not comment on how the approval on the UHC project will affect the separate request for a $100-million hospital project a short distance up the road in Fairmont.

Authority watchers say it is unlikely the Fairmont project will be approved.

The Clarksburg facility will bring needed space to UHC with 318 inpatient beds and 100 outpatient beds.
