NORMANTOWN-STUMPTOWN WATER SHORT ON CUSTOMERS - Only 30 Have Signed

(10/14/2003)
Gilmer's long needed water line extension to Normantown-Stumptown is short on customers.

Brenda Lawson, Gilmer Public Service District manager, said only 30 people have signed up and paid their deposits.

The PSD says 167 are needed to make the $2.9 million project a go.

Lawson said if everyone signs by December 1, water could be flowing in the area sometime within a year.

She said if interest in not shown, the waterline could end where most of the customers are requesting service.
