SGT. CAMPBELL NEW DETACHMENT COMMANDER - "It Takes A Community..."

(10/09/2003)

Grantsville has a new State Police detachment commander. Sgt. Darrin Campbell, a resident of Wirt County, assumed the post on October 1st.

"I really want to become part of the community and do a good job," he said. "It takes a community to help us do or job."

"Our door is open."

Sgt. Campbell said the detachment members would be out and visible to Calhoun residents.

A graduate of Wirt County High School, and later the West Virginia State Police Academy in 1989, he was previously assigned to Grantsville, Romney and the Parkway. Since 1995 he has been with the Elizabeth detachment.

Campbell is married to Misty Campbell, Wirt County Circuit Clerk. They have two children, a son Taylor, age 9, and a daughter Madalyn, age 7.
