check-out problem at Richard's residence

Around two inches of rain fell on Calhoun earlier Tuesday causing local streams to quickly rise with some local flooding.

The Grantsville VFD responded to the Richard's place on Barnes Run near Hur, where water surrounded the dwelling and threatened to enter the house.

Water poured off hillsides causing local creeks to rise in many narrow Calhoun hollows.

At least two bus runs departed from Calhoun Middle/High School early because of possible closed roads. School was dismissed in Roane County.

Radar indicates heavy rain could be headed toward the region later today.
