BETTY EARL FLUHARTY - Linn, formerly of Calhoun

Betty Fluharty, 56, of Linn, Gilmer County, West Virginia, departed this life at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003, at Sunbridge of Glenville Health Care following an extended illness.

She was born November 25, 1946, in Auburn, Ritchie County, a daughter of Len and Genevieve Ellyson Earl of Sinking Creek, Gilmer County. She was a former hairdresser at Hair Expo in Glenville. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School with the Class of 1965 and was a graduate of Parkersburg Beauty College. She was Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Amanda Fluharty of Arlington, Virginia.; three sons, Jeffery Allen Fluharty of Canon City, Colorado, Scott Andrew Fluharty of Littleton, Colorado and Matthew Wayne Fluharty of Ladson, South Carolina; one brother, Phillip Earl of Grantsville, West Virginia; and three grandchildren, Joshua and Nathaniel Ray Fluharty, both of Canon City, and Matthew Wayne Fluharty II of Ladson.

Mrs. Fluharty was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Arnold Lee Earl.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville, with the Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
