JEFF HARRIS TO SPEAK AT VICTORY BAPTIST - Husband Of Accident Victim

July 28th forever altered the lives of all those involved in the accident which was nearly fatal for 28 year old Virginia Harris. When Calhoun EMS, Calhoun Law Enforcement, and the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene, I'm sure they were unaware that the accident was such a grim disaster.

Calhoun citizens immediately stepped in and did what they do best in a disaster, and helped where they could, but the prognosis on Virginia didn't look good. Bill and Alice Agee of New Testament Baptist Church, took charge of three Harris children, ages 1, 2 and 3, while Pastor Jeff Harris stayed at his wife's side. Calhoun County EMS cared for Virginia on scene and packaged her up for transport to Minnie Hamilton Health Care. A bad weather report grounded the helicopter, which seemed to be Virginia's only hope for survival at the time. So the staff at Minnie Hamilton Health Care kept her stabilized until a ground crew from Charleston Area Medical Center could get there for transport. All of these people I believe were guided directly by the hand of the Almighty God and because of that, Virginia made it! She did however lose her leg, she almost lost her life, but not her sweet spirit.

Virginia is still being treated for her injuries in the Charleston Area Medical Center. Her most recent surgery was a skin graph on her amputated leg, preparing her for a prosthesis, which she'll soon be fitted for, after a trip to Canada to visit with her children and parents.

A recent trip to visit Virginia at CAMC left Pastor Mike Worf, and Assistant pastor C.W. McDonald of Victory Baptist Church, in awe as they witnessed the triumph of the Harris family. Virginia's spirits were high as she visited with their oldest of three children, Luke, who was home from Canada for a two week visit with his Mom and Dad. Virginia gloried in the fact that Luke could already pronounce the word "prosthesis" and could (when not feeling bashful) tell people what his mommy was having done.

Jeff Harris will be preaching and sharing his testimony at Victory Baptist Church on Sunday, September 7th at 6 p.m. Pastor Mike Worf encourages everyone in the community, especially those who were involved in this accident either as victims, or coming to the aid of the Harris family to come out and listen as Brother Jeff shares what the Lord has done in his family's life.
