Fire barely visible across the West Fork

Arnoldsburg firemen investigate blaze

Fire completely destroyed a one-story dwelling and its contents on Altizer Road yesterday evening. The house was owned and occupied by Donald Hall. He was not at home when the fire broke out.

The fire was discovered at 5 p.m. after the dwelling was nearly burned to the ground.

The Arnoldsburg VFD responded with three units, but did not attempt to cross the waters of the West Fork with pumper trucks. Firemen did go to the scene.

The farm was the original W. R. and Tapley Sapp place, once accessed by a swinging bridge.
