The CCHS Academic Team has completed its 2000-2001 season with the
West Virginia Quiz Bowl Competition at West
Virginia Wesleyan
College in Buckhannon on Monday, March 19.
Several teams from all over West Virginia took part in this year's
state tournament. You may
recall that Calhoun won both its division and the overall tournament
two years ago. They did not fair as well this year but could
certainly hold
their heads high having finished the morning rounds with a point total
of 830, placing them just after the top 4 AA teams whose
point totals
were 1090, 850, 850, and 850.
The top 4 scoring teams in divisions A, AA, and AAA went on to
compete in the afternoon to determine winners
in each division and overall.
Participating for Calhoun this year were Christeallia Amorosi (not
pictured), Travis Deuley, Anna Hughes, Scottie (Sparky)
Westfall, Andrew
Whipkey, Patrick Wildfire, and Shane Yeager.
