(08/14/2003)
Melvin Morrison, 60, of Smithville, well-known to Calhoun residents, was seriously injured in a horsing accident last week, after which he lost his right eye and had extensive damage to the right side of his head and face, which required reconstructive surgery.

He has been through surgery this week and last and is "improving" with a prosthetic eye.

The Morrisons are fine Christian people who need a little assistance now.

There is a benefit ride scheduled with his horse riding club on August 23rd , and a benefit dinner is being planned.
