TRUCK PLUNGES OFF BARNES RUN BRIDGE - Altizer Man Taken To Minnie Hamilton

Truck breaks through steel guardrail, riding it into creek Truck lands in Barnes Run after leaving bridge Joe M. Garmon, 47, of Altizer Road, received injuries when his truck left a Barnes Run bridge and landed in the creek Wednesday night. He was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center after the 7:30 p.m. accident, likely suffering from fractures and other injuries. Garmon's truck reportedly met another vehicle about to cross a one-lane bridge about one-half mile from the Barnes Run church and Altizer Road. Garmon appeared to have veered to prevent a collision and crashed through a heavy steel guardrail, riding it down into the creek. Calhoun Sheriff Allen Parsons and Deputy Charlie Richards investigated the accident.
