Sen. Boley presents grant to CCCOA Director Ritchie

Senator Donna Boley (Republican) made a "last stop" as a State Senator at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging, yesterday morning. Sen. Boley presented a $25,000 Budget Digest check to CCCOA Director Mike Ritchie.

She said she helped obtain $185,000 for the center.

Ritchie said the money will be used to repair a leaky roof and other upgrades on property owned by the center. "We would like to thank Sen. Boley for her support for the center," referring to an initial $160,000 she obtained to help purchase a garage and additional property.

Sen. Boley said "Because of re-districting I am no longer serving Calhoun." She introduced Sen. Jeff Kessler (Democrat) from Moundsville, (left) by saying "He will work hard on helping Calhoun County."

Sen. Kessler said he was glad to have some time to be in Calhoun and visit with people.

Other elected officials attended the brief ceremony, including Delegate Bill Stemple, Commissioners Larry McCallister, Rick Sampson and Bob Weaver, in addition to Mayor Neil Blankenship.
