Police picked-up Grantsville resident Gary Nicholson Friday evening, after several
officers from the Calhoun Sheriff's Department and the State Police commenced a
search.
Nicholson was wanted for a parole violation and fleeing.
Authorities went to serve a warrant on Nicholson on Norman Ridge about three
weeks ago, and he fled into the woods. Sources said he received some injuries in
the woods after a police dog was brought in to locate him.
Nicholson later advised Sheriff Allen Parsons he would surrender, but he failed to
show up.
Nicholson had earlier fled from his parole officer after a drug screen showed use of
an illegal substance.
