BIG BEND MAN CHARGED WITH SHOOTING - Accidents And Fires

A Big Bend man turned himself into police yesterday, related to a shooting incident at the Hilltop Inn early Tuesday morning. "Little Joe" Delesio (also known as James Merola) was the subject who shot through a TV set in the bar.

Charges have been brought in Calhoun magistrate court, including a felon in possession of a firearm, wanton endangerment, destruction of property and brandishing.

The 49-year-old man allegedly got into a dispute with bar owner Charles Murphy, shooting about three shots, one at Murphy. Two other shots were fired at a TV set.

Delesio, according to a court record, was not allowed to possess a firearm or drink alchol, related to a conviction in New York.

The bar is located on Nighcut Hill on Route 5 west of Grantsville.

A vehicle went out of control, turned over on its side and came to rest at the guard rail in Arnoldsburg Thursday night. The driver of the vehicle refused medical treatment.

The accident happened on U. S. 33/119 in a turn between 'downtown" Arnoldsburg and the Speedy Mart. Calhoun EMS responded, with the Arnoldsburg VFD.

Grantsville VFD answered a call to a vehicle fire in Big Bend about 3 a.m. Friday near the old Brooksville school.
