HARRIS DOING AMAZINGLY WELL - Recovery Will Take Several Months

(08/16/2003)
Virginia Harris is "doing amazingly well and continuing to improve."

Church member Bill Agee said she has a good attitude and is hopeful about her recovery.

Harris was seriously injured in a three-car collision on Route 5 near Grantsville, after which her leg had to be amputated.

Physicians have advised the family of long term needs for recovery and rehabilitation, which may require the family to live close to Charleston Area Medical Center for several months.

Mrs. Harris and her husband, Pastor Jeff Harris, were in the process of moving to Canada to be near her parents when the accident happened. Pastor Harris had resigned from his call at the New Testament Baptist Church at Big Springs.

Pastor Harris expresses thanks to those who have sent cards, gifts and offered prayers.

The Harris' moved out of their house at Mt. Zion, packed up their belongings in U-Hauls, and started their trip, which abruptly ended on Hog Knob Hill, east of Grantsville.

They have three small children, two boys and a girl, ages three and one-half, two and one.

Donations can be made to Jeff or Virginia Harris Fund, c/o Calhoun Banks, PO Box 430, Grantsville WV 26147.

Cards can be sent to Virginia Harris, Box 1485, Charleston, WV 25325.
