CALHOUN SOLDIERS WELCOMED HOME - Parsons And Heiney Complete Basic Training

(08/03/2003)
Signs and balloons were all over the place yesterday with "Welcome Home."

A welcome home reception was held at Parsons One Stop for Robby and Eric Parsons and Keith Heiney, who were returning from 14-weeks of basic training in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri for the Army National Guard.

Cake, punch and chips were served to a group of approximately thirty well wishers who gathered at the store to welcome them home.

The cake was made by Hi Rise Pizza in Big Bend. It was decorated with red, white and blue colors with an eagle, an American flag as well as a welcome home message.

Signs were placed along Route 16 to welcome the boys home on their last few miles of the long journey from Fort Leonardwood. All three young men said that Calhoun County was a welcome site and that they were glad to be home.

Robby is the son of Randy and Mary Ann Parsons of Millstone, Eric is the son of Sheriff Allen and Carolyn Parsons of Millstone and Keith is the son of Don and Janet Heiney of Grantsville.
