CHARLES HOLDEN SIERS - Five Forks

Charles Holden Siers, 91, of Five Forks, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center-Long Term Care.

He was born June 26, 1912 at Tague, WV, a son of the late Charles david and Malissa Jane Cook Siers. He was in the CCC Camp on Droop Mountain and worked in Cleveland, Ohio at the Steel Improvement and Forge Company until 1947 when he moved with his family back to West Virginia.

He worked in the timber business and at Grantsville Appliance Company and retired as a Calhoun County school bus driver. He taught Sunday School at Five Forks Community Church where he was a member for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irene Burrows Siers and two sons, Melvin Siers and his wife Charlotte Ellis Siers of Veradale, Washington; Larry Siers and his wife Susan Bush Siers of Elizabeth, WV; two daughters, Judy Johnson and her husband, Warren of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Karen Offutt and her husband, Lention of Elizabeth, WV; one foster daughter, Jaunita Siers Shafer of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Olen Siers of Mt. Zion, WV; two sisters, Ruby Jones and Esta Jones; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by four brothers, Ermine, Ronzel, Doy and Bernard Siers; one half brother, Norval Siers and his half sister, Orva Bailey; one grandson, Mark Edward Johnson.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, WV. Rev. Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
