HARRIS IMPROVING AFTER SECOND SURGERY

(07/31/2003)
Virginia Harris, 28, of Mt. Zion, is "improving" in Charleston Area Medical Center, after undergoing a second round of surgery yesterday. Harris underwent emergency surgery Monday night in Charleston Area Medical Center after she was involved in a three car collision near Grantsville. Her leg had to be removed.

"She is conscious and aware of what has happened," said Bill Agee, a member of the New Testament Baptist Church of Big Springs, where her husband has served as pastor.

The Harris family, including three small children, packed up Monday for a move to Canada to be with her parents, where the accident happened.

Agee said the Harris' moved out of their home at Mt. Zion, and the new owners have taken custody. "They are a family without a home," he said.

The church is asking for Mrs. Harris to be put on prayer chains.

The Hur Herald has received several inquiries about how they can help the Harris family.

A posting will be made today regarding the needs of the family.

Virginia Harris is the wife of Pastor Jeff Harris, 34.
