Edith Singleton, 97, of Grantsville died Monday, July 21, 2003, at the home of her daughter.

She was born July 22, 1905, at Gem, W.Va., the daughter of the late James E. and Mary Louverna Conrad Wine. She was a Christian and a homemaker.

Surviving are three daughters, Mildred L. Ward, Lula L. "Jean" Ward and her husband, Arley, all of Grantsville, and Carldetta Weber and her husband, Edward, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; three sons, Roland "Cub" Singleton of Leon, W.Va., Van B. Singleton and his wife, Francis, of Diamond, Ohio, and Amos Singleton and his wife Wanda, of Burnsville, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Singleton in April 1956; and three daughters, Mary Ellen, Betty Lee and Rebecca Ann Singleton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods, W.Va., with the Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Wirt Lee Singleton Cemetery at Grass Run, W.Va. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
