SPENCER MAN DIES AFTER BAR FIGHT - Two Facing Charges From Borderline Nightclub Incident

(07/22/2003)
A Roane County man died Sunday, a day after being treated at Roane General Hospital for injuries he received in a bar fight early Saturday morning.

State Police were investigating the cause of death of Nathan Murray, 20, of Spencer. Murray's body has been sent to the state medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

Murray was reportedly involved in a fight inside the Borderline Nightclub, just west of Spencer on U.S. 33, about 2:15 a.m. Saturday. He was taken to Roane General and later released.

State Police obtained warrants for two Spencer men for malicious wounding.

Virgil A. Thompson, 45, turned himself in Sunday. He was released after posting bond, but authorities were still searching for Johnny Franklin Greathouse, 39.
