He is a native of Shock, Gilmer Country, and is currently employed by the West Virginia Supreme Court in Charleston, and was previously a law clerk with the 14th Judicial Circuit.

Minney graduated first in his class at Glenville State College in 1996 with a degree in education, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence at West Virginia University in 2001, near the top of his class.

Earlier he was a substitute teacher in Gilmer and Calhoun County.

Minney said he is looking forward to becoming Calhoun's prosecutor. He will assume his duties on August 1st.

Minney says one of his hobbies is amateur radio, and has written articles published in QST, 73 and Worldradio magazines.

Tony Morgan says he intends to devote his attention to his law practice in Grantsville.
