"Do all the riders in this race wear the same shirt?" asked a bystander at the finish line after the first 3 riders completed what is referred to as "the most dangerous mountain bike race in the world".

No, they do not, but the first 3 riders across the finish line all happened to be Team WV/Bon Jovi riders! Nick Waite, racing in the Men's Pro/Expert Class, crossed the finish line in 1 hour and 47 seconds - a new course record according to Race Director Doug Atkins.

He was followed in by Junior Expert Rider Bryan Fawley (1:52), and the Clay Evans, Men's Pro/Expert, timed at 1:52.

TEAM WV/BonJovi also scored first place finishes in Men's Vet Expert (team manager Steve Thaxton), Men's Junior Sport (Andrew Fetty), Women's Sport (Courtney Dudley), and Women's Sport Master (Linda Brison).

Grabbing 2nd place finishes were Clay Evans (Men's Pro/expert), and Mark Johnson (Men's Sport 26-24). Third place finishers were Will Clagg (Men's Sport 19-25) and Cai Clothier (Men's Junior Sport under 14)from Calhoun County. Mandi Riddle (Women's Pro/Expert) and Steve Marshall (Men's Sport Master) took 4th place finishes.
